Digital Product Manager

The Digital Product Manager is responsible to drive profitable growth based on crafting and executing the Pantone digital asset strategy within the Pantone’s overarching brand positioning as the universal language of color. The candidate will use a start-up mindset and digital product management skillset to drive development and launch of breakthrough Pantone digital libraries, ancillary functionality, and ecosystem interfaces to expand the use of the Pantone color systems. This position is for a multi-dimensional person who is passionate about technology, creativity and innovation, as well as grounded in business, strategy and product management in the dynamic world of color and appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction
Define a defensible and differentiated positioning and overall framework that provides meaningful value for the customer base and technology partners, based on:

  • Mapping customer base and identifying most attractive customer segments and applications
  • Understanding the relevant competitive landscape for different verticals and applications
  • Leveraging existing physical and digital color assets and solutions using those assets
  • Flagging ecosystem partners that can expand or reinforce its adoption

Product Roadmap
Create and drive prioritized development of the digital library and functionality roadmaps by

  • Securing an in-depth understanding of customer needs and usage cases
  • Studying Pantone current offering and delivery mechanisms (e.g. own solution, plug-in, API, etc.)
  • Understanding offering and functionality of relevant competitors and close substitutes
  • Understanding of market and technology trends

Product Development Process Leadership
Lead/coordinate the development of new features and products following stage-gate standard processes, including::

  • Steward projects though Accelerated Product Development standard processes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and timelines with visual action plans, daily management principles, and kaizen events
  • Validate customer workflows, needs, and barriers through development phases
  • Align project timelines with marketing and sales via launch excellence processes

Revenue Generation
Establish commercial elements to drive revenue generation by providing access to digital libraries and ancillary functionality

  • Define pricing structures, licensing and distribution mechanisms
  • Establish value propositions with monetization models for technology partners and end users
  • Establish business models to enable selling and delivery of products through channels
  • Work with Marketing in creating relevant content to articulate concepts, value props for typical use cases, and distribute for use on applicable channels and verticals

Digital Asset Management
In close partnership with Technical functions, establish guidelines to manage digital colors across verticals and applications, including:

  • Define parameters for color records (master and dependent) and overall architecture
  • Establish process to create, maintain and expand color libraries, both public and private access and usage
  • Build and/or secure relevant intellectual property to manage libraries appropriately
  • Set up permission and licensing mechanisms to enable controlled monetizing of the libraries

Ecosystem Partnerships
Work with Business Development functions, to identify, prioritize, set up and maintain sustainable technology partnerships to drive adoption of digital libraries

  • Within all solutions within Pantone, X-Rite, Esko, MediaBeacon and AVT
  • By systematically reaching to prioritized ecosystem technology leaders
  • By opportunistically working with interested parties

Other Activities

  • Contribute to annual strategic plan process

General Requirements/ Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in product management, product marketing, or product development for digital products
  • Experience in building partnerships and connectivity with technology providers
  • Comfortable and effective interacting with channel partners, customers and end-users, from small settings to large events, with global scale
  • A proven track record of driving profitable revenue and market share growth, demonstrated over a sustained period of time
  • Strong communication skills; sense of urgency; customer focused; adaptive to change; strategic and tactical; continuous improvement mentality; self-starter
  • Knowledge / experience with design market and color expertise, a plus

Channel Development Manager

Drives revenue growth by documenting best commercial practices, leading their adoption with existing channels, and expanding Pantone presence by helping sign up new channel partners. Reporting to General Manager.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Best Practice Development. Build and continuously refine distributor-focused playbooks and supporting tools with best commercial practices, reflecting the Pantone business model for graphics arts, textiles, and products, including:

  • How to commercialize the full Pantone offering with the right channel mix in a given country or region
  • How to effectively connect and leverage sales and marketing efforts, from demand generation to funnel management
  • How to manage key accounts, aiming at specifying Pantone solutions and driving adoption in the supply chain

Channel Segmentation. Leads effort and analysis to size markets, map competitive set, and assess current Pantone presence, yielding the top priorities for channel optimization and expansion.

Existing Channel Optimization. Drives revenue growth by leading deployment of commercial best practices in prioritized countries, including:

  • Drive deployment and adoption by prioritized channels, with training sales and channel partners
  • Benchmark internal and external practitioners to learn and adopt relevant commercial approaches and tools
  • Set metrics in place to track results

New Channel Development. Drives revenue growth by helping identify and on-board new partners on prioritized countries/regions, including:

  • Identify and rank partner options based on pre-defined relevant criteria
  • Negotiate commercial terms and facilitate set up
  • Helps onboarding by utilizing best practice playbooks and tools.

Initiative Structure, Reporting and Review Cadence. Builds and leads a structured approach to this initiative, including:

General Requirements/ Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in business development and/or commercial roles with B2B and B2C experience in setting with complex sales channels (direct, distributors, eCom). Brand Licensing experience a plus
  • Experience in process development and training materials, including productizing and disseminating best commercial practices as well as conducting high-impact training
  • Experience and knowledge of macroeconomics and market conditions for Latin America, EMEA and South East Asia, a plus
  • Familiarity with demand generation processes, with hard metrics to track activity and results

Color Standards Technician

As a Color Standards Technician, you will:

  • Measure fabric samples using a Spectrophotometer.
  • Collect and archive color data using iColor software.
  • Make responsible decisions to either approve colors, or submit for correction.
  • Perform visual color evaluations, providing direction to lab and production facility.
  • Maintain detailed color history in Excel.
  • Build and maintain physical archives.
  • Attend meetings, and Kaizans as needed.

The Color Standards Technician is expected to have:

  • A superior score on the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test.

Textile Machine Operator

Pantone LLC, a division of X-Rite, a Danaher Company, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Machine Operator in our Carlstadt, New Jersey facility.

Pantone has been the world leader in color communication and specification for over fifty years. Pantone’s products and services are used by designers and manufacturers in many industries – from graphic design and print to apparel and product design – to ensure accurate color from inspiration to realization.

The Machine Operator is expected to:

  • Loading and unloading of textile dyeing machines
  • Cut and sew fabric utilized for specific jobs.
  • Extraction of fabric, fabric drying and cutting samples of recently dyed colors.
  • Learn all aspects of the dyeing cycle from start to finish.
  • Weigh dyes and Chemicals for dyeing of colors.
  • Perform heavy lifting; up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain a clean work area. Perform daily and weekly 5S tasks in all work areas.
  • Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on machines on platform.
  • Provide feedback on processes / standard work procedures that align with DBS best team wins.

Vice President, Marketing

Position Overview:

Direct all marketing functions for Pantone business worldwide to drive profitable and sustainable growth in support of strategic business plan. The VP of Marketing will play an integral role in growing Pantone brand awareness, increasing B2B and B2C market penetration for all product and service categories in all regions of the world. Reporting to VP/GM.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with General Manager in developing and executing the annual strategic plan, from the gathering of critical and relevant inputs (market and competitive analysis, key changes, voice of customer) to the synthesis into differentiated and defensible strategy that delivers value to target customers, including insightful market segmentation, positioning and targeting with clearly defined business priorities
  2. Responsible for the Pantone brand, shaping and refining its definition and expanding its equity. Involve in all decisions were brand equity is in play, setting boundaries and guidelines for use and safeguard
  3. Lead product management, (a) driving key decisions of the Pantone offering (products and services), including product development direction (refinement, derivatives and true innovations) based on an in-depth understanding of customer needs and competitive landscape; and (b) engaging with Sales channels to drive successful launches and ongoing profitable sales growth.
  4. Lead marketing communications, driving (a) brand awareness and primary demand creation (advertising, public relations, social media, search engine optimization, mass emails, trade shows, events and webinars, and telemarketing); and (b) creating and maintaining content and digital assets to use and leverage across all commercial functions.
  5. In conjunction and coordination with Sales, (a) create and execute demand generation plans, directing marketing communication activities and campaigns to secure an agreed % of incremental revenue; and (b) create and implement CRM-based best practices/standard of lead-to-order process to create, assign, track and measure resulting qualified leads to opportunities to revenue.
  6. Lead trade marketing, to drive dealer growth and support dealer network, based on (a) building and providing relevant assets and tools, (b) productizing and training winning commercial practices; and (c) in conjunction with Sales, drive channel expansion supporting identification and on-boarding of new partners.
  7. Own strategic pricing, by (a) leading the creation and execution of action plans to deliver 1.5% of annual price impact, based on price increases and discount management; and (b) defining and refining pricing for product and services, based on value proposition and competitive landscape
  8. Drive adoption and implementation of effective daily management tools and standard work in all marketing functions and activities, leveraging DBS tools set and benchmarking best practices in Danaher and external companies.

General Requirements/experience:

  1. 10+ years experience in senior marketing roles with B2B and B2C experience in setting with complex sales channels (direct, distributors, eCom). Sales, Services and/or Brand Licensing experience a plus
  2. Experience in product management, including product development of physical and digital products and services
  3. Experience in process development, including productizing and disseminating best commercial practices
  4. Proven expertise and success in traditional and non-traditional marketing communication elements (print and digital advertising, public relations, social media, search engine optimization, mass emails, trade shows, events and webinars, telemarketing, etc.)
  5. Experience in creating and implementing demand generation processes and plans, with hard metrics to track activity and results
  6. Experience building, nurturing and retaining productive and engaged teams, including direct reports, matrix-based adjacent associates, and external partners, in global settings

  8. A proven track record of driving profitable revenue and market share growth, demonstrated over a sustained period of time.
